QED Guidance for Founders

QED Investors, Greg’s employer, has recently launched a valuable resource for founders, The Founders Durability Series, which asks “What are the silent costs of being a founder?” In six modules, the program addresses the structural pressures which founders carry and the consequent physical and emotional challenges which affect decisions impacting a company’s performance as well as the health of the founder. Emotional hazards of depression, loss of purpose, and identity disruption may affect founders even as their company “succeeds.” These psychoemotional issues may increase the risk of a substance use disorder. The program provides practical strategies for founders to maintain clarity as well as physical and emotional balance in the face of the well known stressors and pressures they face. I’ve provided a link to the program which is rich in concrete advice and steps to overcome these challenges and build capacity to carry the unavoidable stress.
